
The panic of the outbreak of bird flu has geared up in India after the death of 2,300 chicken at a poultry farm in Siliguri in the last couple of days.
It has sent the panic signals to West Bengal government. The government has issued bird flu alert districts that are close to Bangladesh border.
Some cases of avian influenza have been reported in Bangladesh recently. Further, the government has imposed a ban on any kind of poultry import and farm products import from Bangladesh.
According to the Animal resources welfare minister Anisur Rehman, chickens are not usually brought from Bangladesh.
However, the government has decided to impose the ban in the view of the possibility of bringing it at a cheap rate. This is a precautionary step to restrict the import.
The reports of 2,300 chickens chickens’ death in the Aziz Poultry Farm near Siliguri has sounded alert in the state.

The dead chickens have been buried and the Aziz Poultry Farm at Matigara near Siliguri has been sealed.
The administration has sent the samples of the dead chicken to the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory at Bhopal to know the actual cause behind the chickens’ death.
On the other hand, the state government has not announced any safety measures till yet to the poultry farms in the state that rarely follow the safety norms.
