3 blasts rock Meghalaya, cause 13 injuries

Three bomb blasts rocked two districts in Meghalaya, Khasi and Jaintia Hills since last night. At least 13 people have been injured in the 3 separate blasts.

According to the reports, the first blast happened at 9 p.m. at a garment shop in Shillong’s Police Bazaar. The two other blasts occurred at Ladrymbai in Jaintia Hills district in the afternoon.

The State Home Minister RG Lyngdoh as well as the concerning police officials are monitoring the current situation in the blast areas.

The situation after the blast is now normal at both the places where the blasts had occurred. Lyngdoh said that the two blasts in Ladrymbai happened in two separate gambling dens. In these blasts nine people were injured.

On the other hand, Shillong blast occurred in Tuesday night. In this blast four persons were injured.

According to the eyewitnesses, some unidentified miscreants had lobbed a crude bomb inside a garment shop in Police Bazaar. After that they were fled away on motercycles.

The police were investigating for the Tuesday blast, two more blasts occurred in Wednesday afternoon that sent the police into a flap.

The police officers immediately rushed to the blast sites in the afternoon. Lyngdoh, Director General of Police (DGP) WR Marbaniang and top police officials said that bomb attacks were appeared to be well planned attack.
