China once had betrayed India way back in 1962 and attacked the country despite of Indian friendly gesture towards China. Indians are still feeling the betrayal even after 45 years of the war. Indians can not believe on China anymore, this is the message from the people of India.

The interesting part of the story is that this is not happening with Indian people, the similar attitude have been made against China in different countries such as United States and European countries as well. The countries are feeling unease because of China’s growing economic and military power.

According to the 2007 Pew Global Attitudes Survey currently at least 43 percent Indians have a negative thought and opinion about China. The similar survey had disclosed earlier in 2002 that only 20 percent Indian were in favor of the negative thoughts about China.

The 2007 Pew Global Attitudes Survey has now clearly revealed that the people of major nations have not a positive thought towards China and the image of China has been slipped significantly.

According to the survey, at least 48 percent Indian think that the growing Chinese economy is not good for India. The percentage was 42 per cent in the year 2006. In 2005, 53 percent Indians had said that China’s economic development is good for India, while 36 per cent of them had said that this would be a problem for India.

According to the 47-nation survey on global opinions, ‘Global Unease with Major Powers’ the opinion of anti-Americanism is comparatively less in India. 60 percent of Indian people have a favorable opinion about the US. At the same time, major part of Indian populations disagrees on the US policies.
