
According to report, PC Ram was feared killed during a rescue operation by security forces on Thursday near Guwahati.
This was a great mystery that was he dead or lives since past three months.
Earlier in the month of April, the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) had claimed to kidnap Food Corporation of India’s Executive Director P C Ram.
The report had said that the ULFA had allegedly abducted PC Ram and had demanded a ransom of Rs 21 crore for his release.
On July 1, police had recovered a body in a decomposed condition from Anandapur village in Assam’s Baksa district and claimed to identify the dead body as PC Ram’s body. PC Ram’s son Prabeen Kumar Ram had identified the body as his father’s body.
But, ULFA cadre had claimed after July 1 that PC Ram was still alive and in their custody. Later, the Assam Police had reportedly claimed that they mistaken in the identification of that body. The Assam police said that body was of a former army personnel named Sunil Kumar Chauhan (45).
Now, another report has said that PC Ram was feared killed when the security forces were on drive to rescue him from ULFA militants. The security forces had surrounded some ULFA militants when they received information that they were hiding in a house on the outskirts of Guwahati. The rescue operation was resulted in a major firing from both sides in which three people were killed.
Later, two of the dead bodies were identified as ULFA militants. G. P. Singh, a police officer who had led the operation said that the third body is suspected to be of Mr PC Ram. The report said that there are some similarities in the body features. The administration has sent the body for post-mortem. The administration has also called the family members to identify the body.
