Sometimes back, It was Lalu Prasad who was invited to IIM Ahmedabad to give some tips to future managers at this premier institution. He shared the success-tips of making Indian railway from debt-ridden to profit making PSU.
Now, the IIM A invited the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, who has been rated as the top most chief minister in the country for the second consecutive years. He has another turnaround story behind him that got applaud in the management institution.
Bihar was the topic of the discussion as the central theme at IIM-A’s Confluence ‘06. The theme was about ‘the would be future story’ of Bihar. It was all about that how a developed Bihar could translate into a bigger growth story for the country.
Nitish Kumar told the future managers about the changes his one-year-old government has ushered in such a complex region.
One thing that was present in Lalu show and was missing in Nitish show, that was wit and humour. At the same time one thing that was absent in Lalu show but present in Nitish show that was the seriousness in the discussion.
Nitish collected his share of accolades, and a set of admirers at the B-school. A group of IIM students who were from Bihar, presented him a proposal ‘how to propel growth in Bihar’.
In the last of the day, Nitish has made surprised to the institute’s top body, when he announced a proposal that he wants to set up a similar kind of B-school in Patna too.
