Sunil Mittal-led Bharti Airtel has become the undisputed leader in the list of mobile service providers in India. According to the gross revenue data after the quarter ended on March 31, 2007, the Bharti Airtel has emerged as the biggest revenue gainer among the other mobile service providers.

The figures provided by service providers to Telecom Regulatory Authority of India says that Bharti has earned Rs 5,958.82 crore in the financial year 2006-07 and ranked right at the top slot in the list of mobile service providers.

The Anil Ambani group Company Reliance Communications has earned Rs 3,766.89 crore in the current financial year and ranked at the second place next to Bharti Airtel. The Hutch-Essar has displaced the BSNL from the third rank in terms subscribers and has earned Rs 3,052.97 crore as revenue in this financial year.

Some days back, Sunil Mittal had showed his humanitarian gesture and had offered special subsidized rates for calls made by its mobile and fixed line customers to cyclone-hit Oman for a period of three days.

According to the data, Hutch-Essar, in which Vodafone has taken stake with $10.9 billion takeover, has become the the third largest mobile service providers in terms of subscribers. At the same time, it has become the second largest player in terms of the number of GSM customers.

According to the comprehensive data, Hutch-Essar has been emerged as the third largest cellular operating company in the country next to Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications.
