BJP's top leaders reject state unit's demand to snap ties with Shiv Sena

The BJP central leadership is trying hard to save the alliance with Shiv Sena now. Shiv Sena had earlier decided to vote in favor of UPA-Left’s candidate Pratibha patil in the Presidential election conducted last month.

Shiv Sena decided to go against NDA’s decision because Pratibha Patil has her ancestors in Maharastra. Sena’s decision to go with UPA irked BJP leaders and they started talking to break the alliance with Shiv Sena.

Now, Pratibha Patil has become India’s 1st woman President and the top brass BJP leaders want to restore the old relations with Shiv sena again.

According to the report, the BJP’s top leadership has asked the leaders of the state unit to discuss the matter with state executive committee whether they can afford to break the alliance or not. On Thursday, the leaders of state unit met the BJP parliamentary board and demanded to snap all ties with Shiv Sena.

The BJP’s top leaders looked in no hurry to decide for snapping political relations with Sena. Despite of the demand to end the alliance from the state leaders, they asked the state leaders to go for an assessment review with MLAs and corporators that how the BJP will fare without the Sena’s support in the state.

On the other hand, Shiv Sena’s executive president Uddhav Thackeray has said that BJP has to take the decision whether they want to remain an ally or not.
