Bollywood stars' 'Looks mania' clinches condemnation

Bollywood actor Rimi Sen made remarks on her latest film Golmal and dragged herself in a controversy. She said during an interview about the director of the film Rohit Shetty that he can easily turn a black African in good-looking folk.

The Bollywood website Glamsham.com and yahoo news published her statement. Later, the British African group Ligali has harshly criticized her statement.

Jaspreet Pandohar, Bollywood film critic for BBC Movies Online, reacted on the actor’s statement by terming it as appalling but ‘not completely unexpected’. She said that, her statement shows her less knowledge about cultures of other countries and Bollywood’s fascination with white skin color.

She says further that the similar kind of remark had made by Hritik Roshan at London some times earlier. He had made a comment about the looks of Chinese people. He said at a press conference that he wanted to leave Shanghai and Hong Kong during the shooting immediately because his eyes started turning into little slits like the Chinese.

These are the new generation superstars of the Bollywood who know little about the Indian Culture, how we can expect them to respect the people of the other part of the world?

It’s no wonder so many people hate Indians! With the ignorance coming out of the mouths of that ’Bollywood’ unknown, wannabe actor and actress, people are going to have much less respect for them even more now than ever! They make their entire culture look stupid and ignorant! It’s so sad that they don’t realize that there is beauty in ALL cultures and races! I get the feeling that they might be ashamed of being etnic themselves, and that’s so unfortunate and pathetic. ***GET A CLUE YOU NO TALENT HAVING FAKE ACTORS!
P.S. You’ll NEVER win an Oscar—that requires talent and compassion—FOR ALL!!!

I agree, they are all like it! ignorrant and no respect for anyone. they have too high opinion of themselves, and think they invented and created everything there is in the world. its truely excrusiating. they are truely are victims of mental bancruptcy, and im sick of being treated less than human by them.

I deplore these comments made by second-grade so-called actors and actresses. These upper caste Hindus after proving to be ”no-where on the world scene in any profession” have a found a medium to express their disgust. Upper Caste Hindus have a deep rooted inferiority complex that is reflected by showing apathy towards their own lower caste and deprived people and making provocative remarks against Africans. Shame!

Who are these people? Who has given them the right to comment against other nationalities? They themselves are the people who are earning money because of their fathers. Do they have talents to rise on their own? Can they stand without taking their parent’s name or by selling their conscience? They talk about African who are known to be of fairer character than corrupt Indians and Chinese who have a dynamic vision for their country. Is Shanghai better or Mumbai? Can Hrithik comment on that? If Hrithik was so fed up of the Chinese around him would it not be fair to see Tom Cruise complaint of being surruonded by brownies when in India (including Hrithik)? These so-called stars are those who park their funds in foreign banks and make their country suffer. THOSE WHO LIVE IN HOUSES OF GLASS MUST NOT THROW STONES ON OTHER’S.
