
It has been proved on many occasions that Indians are fond of looks and color. It has gone in depth in our nature that even childless couples some times ask about the features, caste and religion of sperm donors.
According to the Times of India survey, childless couples who go to sperm bank frequently ask about the religion of the donor. Some times doctors reveal and observe the questions with requests.
The second frequent question relates with about the donor’s caste. But it does not matter for the couple. Most of the doctors say that they did not entertain these types of questions.
Some couples do want to know about the complexion of the sperm donors, some do want about his height too. Doctors deal with this situation with good counseling. They say to the couples that how the fair complexioned child would match with the parents who are of dark complexion. How child with good height would match with parents who are short.
Different hospitals have different opinion on the nature of queries asked by the childless couples.
The Apollo doctors say that almost 25% of them want to know about the donor’s caste and 60% ask about the religion.
The Cryogenie doctors say that only 10% want to know about the caste and 50% want to know the religion.
On the other hand, the doctors of Sir Gangaram Hospital say that no body asks about the caste of the donors. And the doctors of forties say that no body wants to know about the religion of the donor.
According to the doctors, questions about the donor’s religion are more frequent. The questions about physical attributes of the donors come next.
