
The central government has come out with an acceptance that, incidents of cross-border terrorism and infiltration have increased in comparison with last year. This matter would be discussed as the most focused topic in the Tuesday conclave of Chief Ministers on internal security of the country.
Prime Minister is expected to make a speech on the rise in grenade attacks in Kashmir, increase in the number of casualties in Naxalite violence and no respite in insurgency in the Northeast.

The government of India has accepted Pakistan is still providing aid and support terrorism and terrorist groups, particularly Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Infiltration - 21 - January-July 2005
Infiltration- 50 - January-July 2006.
Cross-border infiltration - 170 - January-July, 2005
Cross-border infiltration - 476 - January-July, 2006
Grenade attacks in Jammu and Kashmir - 176 -January-July 2006
Growing cases of Naxal incidents are no less worrying. But the statistics shows that the number of cases has declined.

The agenda paper prepared by the government of India says that Naxalites are now opting the functioning of military line of functioning. The raids in Jehanabad (November 13, 2005), Giridih (February 9, 2006), Udaygiri (March 24, 2006) and Chhattisgarh (March 12, 2006) are the burning examples of the organized Naxalites’ functioning.
