A provincial health officer Dr. Perry Kendall said that cremateion of the human body may not be environmental friendly, as it was said earlier. He says further that this issue needs some study. On the other hand funerals directors denied any hazardous emission from the crematorium chimneys.
Kendall said further that he did not want to put the funeral homes under scrutiny. He said earlier that a proposed funeral home was rejected because of some hazard emissions suspicions in Kamloops. He said that the funeral chimneys may be a substandard hazard in an urban area.
