Dead body found in California Park identified as Indian professional

An unidentified body that was found in a river in the Yosemite National Park in California was later identified as an Indian. According to the park ranger, the 27-year-old Indian, Kiran Yellajyosula, had fallen into the Merced River some 15 days back.

Members of the Yosemite search spotted Yellajyosula’s body between two large rocks several hundred feet below the bridge on last Tuesday.

Kiran Yellajyosula was a computer engineer from India and he is survived by his mother, father and a sister, who all live in India. On May 19, Kiran, with his friends, had gone to Vernal Fall. On Wednesday afternoon the city administration has identified the body as Kiran Yellajyosula.

Yellajyosula was originally from Vizag, India and he had completed his engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology in 2001.

Later, he went to West Virginia University for further studies in master’s degree in computer science in 2003. Presently, he was working in computer graphics for Nvidia in Santa Clara and also pursuing a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Minnesota.
