
Why the witnesses of Model Jessica Lal murder case turned hostile in the court during trial? The Delhi High Court has asked the question to the 29 hostile witnesses in the connection with this case. The court has further given two weeks’ time to all the 29 hostile witnesses to come out with their replies.
The Delhi High Court bench comprising Justice R.S. Sodhi and Justice P.K. Bhasin has ordered the witnesses to reply on their behavior in court. The bench had convicted Manu Sharma and two of his friends, Vikas Yadav and Amardeep Singh Gill, on December 20 in the high profile murder case. The court had asked them to be present in the court to explain why they withdrawn their statements before the trial judge.

Later, the court had issued non-bailable warrants to a few of them on when they did not appear in the morning. Shyan Munshi, Andaleeb Sehgal, Shiv Dass Yadav, Prem Sagar Minocha, Manu’s servant Shankar Mukhia, Jagannath Jha were appeared in the court.
The court asked why actions should not be instigated against them for taking back their statements and for snooping in the justice delivery system.
The court has fixed date for the next hearing on February 19 and issued the directive to the Delhi Police counsel Mukta Gupta to present the copies of their statements recorded by the police under Section 161 during investigation and the retracted statements also.
The court had issued non-bailable warrants against Vrun Shah, Mukesh Saini and Narayan Singh after they had failed to appear in the court as per the direction but they appeared in the court in afternoon.
