The biggest search engine, Google, has got it hard to search skilled talent in India suitable to company’s need.
The company’s founder-director Kavitark Ram Shriram has admitted that he came to know first hand that there would be a problem in hiring engineers for Google in Banglore.
However, the company provides its employees better benefits such as medi-claim insurance, life insurance, business travel/personal accident insurance, sick time, maternity leave, paternity leave and family care leave along with good work atmosphere.
This Google ’search’ is speading a message to the world that India is running short of talent.
This is not true I think. India has countless number of talented youngsters. The problem lies in the kind of talent and their use. Fresher and the junior level working groups are doing better and Indian IT companies and BPO Industry are roaring high because of them.
Talent is actually not the problem, nourishing the talents is the main problem in India. Talent should be nourished to make better managers.
Managerial qualities, better communication skill, leadership character, courage to take initiatives in their respective areas, deliver job responsibilities are the basic characters of middle -level managers. India is definitely lacking such kind of skilled people.
What are youngsters doing there in hundreds of call centers? They doing nothing but making easy money. They are talented but not getting better nourishment to become good managers.
People often wait to get orders; they do not take initiatives to lead the other people. The people who do it, gets better opportunities. The companies do line-up to hire those people to fulfill their needs.
India has talent but is lacking in nourishing talent, this is the main problem. The Brain-drain bug is adding more fuel in the flame.
