
The Central government is looking committed to implement the various scheme on the different level of the society for the welfare of the minority. For this, the government has prepared a minority population map to identify the districts, blocks and towns where more than 50,000 people from minority live.
According to the minister of concerning department, the practice is being done only to secure better implementation of the schemes to this section of Indian society.
On Monday, the Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay said in the Rajya Sabha that the government officials went to different zones where substantial population of minorities reside. The Registrar General of India assisted the official to complete to identify such places where minority live in large numbers.
Antulay told the House that the ministry has informed to other ministries in the government, concerning departments for the implementation of the schemes about the map preparation.
Earlier, the Prime Minister had prepared a new 15-point program for the welfare of minorities. The minister said that he has made every concerning offices aware about the program as well as the minority map and has advised them to take appropriate action for the welfare of minorities.
Antulay also said that the government is going to set up an inter-ministerial task force to find the problematic issues arising out of the uneven geographical distribution of minorities in the country. The commission would work under the chairmanship of a member of the Planning Commission.
