
More than seven million Indians usually go abroad for vacations. Now, the Indian government is working to adopt a new mantra that is India for Indians. The government wants to divert Indian going abroad for vacations from abroad destinations to Indian tourism centers.
For that matter, the government is trying to give domestic tourism a boost. The tourism ministry will be preparing to declare as many as 15 destinations in India as areas of excellence. For this, the government is all set to spend about Rs 830 crore.
According to the ministry, the state government would get the funds for capacity building and infrastructure development. The necessary transportation, accommodation, livelihood opportunities and tourist facilitation centers will be established.

The tourism circuits will get a new face and the Agra-Fatehpur Sikri, Ajanta-Ellora-Mahabalipuram and Bodh Gaya-Rajgir-Nalanda regions would be the first one to get a fresh look.
The tourism minister said in Lok Sabha that the central financial assistance had been raised to Rs 25 crore from Rs 5 crore and Rs 50 crore from Rs 8 crore for this work.
It would be helpful for improving the current tourism products and for developing new tourism products in accordance with the world standards.
According to the reports, the tourism ministry is in the talks with the road transport and highways ministry for taking new approach to develop roads and highways leading to these premier destinations.
