Here is big joke, Shahrukh speaks on Nuclear deal

In India, Bollywood celebrities and sports stars sometimes feel that they are the gems of society. They do rate themselves above the common man most of the times. They hardly do something for the cause of social development in the country.

They receive special treatments everywhere including even the place of worships. They can give lakhs and crores of donation to the temples but one can hardly hear about their contributions to the organizations working for the poor people of the country.

Earlier, the years old matter of Sardar Sarovar dam and the rehabilitation process for the displaced villagers suddenly ignited the mind of a bollywood actor Amir Khan.To show his pseudo-intellectualism to the common people, he started attending the dharnas backed by Medha Patekar and started attacking verbally on Gujarat CM Narendra Modi for not doing good works for the rehabilitation of the farmers of the region.

The Electronic media got a good point to earn better TRPs and started inviting Amir Khan in the talk shows to know his views. After 2-3 days, Amair Khan, with the issue of course, went disappeared and matter went in dark again.

It was a big joke and people laughed on the way Amir Khan started talking about a serious issue related with the lives of thousands of villagers displaced because of the construction of the dam. He came, he talked and he went to left the issue as it was before. The question is that why did he come to talk about this issue?

You would ask why am I talking about the old story here. I talked about that incident because today I found another similar joke on a news website... “Sharukh Khan has said that there is no hurry to push the nuclear deal and even a new US Government can be convinced to go ahead with the Deal”. Shahrukh said it while delivering speech at Hindustan Times Leadership Summit being held in Delhi.

It was another big joke and I was surprised why did Shahrukh talk about the Indo-US nuclear deal in the summit. Does he know why India is so desperate to make the deal operational? What is the nature of deal and why US is so keen to have this deal with India? What are the national and international implications of this civilian nuclear deal? What is the meaning of the word ‘civilian’ in the term Indo-US civilian nuclear deal?

How many nuclear reactors India has and how many India has promised IAEA to open for them to visit? What is the amount of electricity India needs at present to meet the demand coming from cities and villages across the nation? How can he be sure about the decisions of the new US government when President Bush himself is not sure that the new government would go ahead with nuke deal with India or not?

So many questions suddenly raised in the mind and the summary of all the questions was that why did Shahrukh suddenly start talking about the nuclear deal just after talking about his looks, Indian films, the importance of song and dance sequences in Indian films. When I though for sometimes, I came to the conclusion that it was all attention grabbing stunt to show his pseudo-intellectualism. Shahrukh may be called as a good actor within certain kind of limitations of acting. Grabbing public and media attention is his job and he is master of that. This might be his another act of grabbing media and public attention.

Have another look on his statement...There is no hurry to push the nuclear deal and even a new US Government can be convinced to go ahead with the Deal...

In Indian democracy everyone has right to speech and expression so one could say that nothing is wrong in his statement. I am not proving him wrong in the article. According to the constitutional rights given to people of India, Shahrukh, like any other India, has freedom to express his words over nuclear deal or any other thing.

At the same time, PM Manmohan Singh has the right to say that Shahrukh should not have acted in the movie such as “Koyla and Ram Jane”, but he did not do that because PM has less knowledge about the films than Sharukh. Similarly political leaders and policy makers have better knowledge about the Nuclear deal than Shahrukh. So, King Khan should mind his own business and should talk about films only.

I think as far as acting is concerned SRK is goood at it, not only me, infact, most of the people would agree with it.him, talking about the nuclear deal simply to attract the attention of people doesn’t seem fine.can we the people of india want to wait for the deal to happen? well i think the wait
has been long enough.current American govt. is taking long time.then, to negotiate the deal with the next american govt. will be a pretty tough job.

I totally agree with you Pratyush.... it becomes hilarious and humiliating at times. AMir talking of Sardar Sarover dam, SRK of N-deal....

I m in the same way surprised when I see in almost all the debates on TV regarding anything that has something to do with Mulims..and invaribaly I see either Javed Akhtar or Shabana Azmi...prsenting the secular or pseudo-secular face of liberal moderate muslims.... I mean are they the only representatives left on earth...
Shabana is a versatile actress, and she is exceleent..touching lines of perfectness, when it comes to acting..same with Javed sahab...he is one of the best lyricist of current times... But one find them iften speaking about issues they have very little knowledge about...

BUT LIKE U SAID INDIA IS A DEMOCRACY AND INDEPENDENT NATION............. SO FREEDOM OF EXPRESSIONS YOU SEE
