
The Madhya Pradesh Police has unearthed an illegal arms factory, which was reportedly making arms and ammunition for naxalites of that region. Following this, an Intelligence Bureau team from Delhi has been sent to Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
On the other hand, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand police have also sent the experts from their anti-Maoist cells to the place. It is being said as big success for the Madhya Pradesh Police.
The Bhopal police, on the specific intelligence directives, had locate the factory. It was being operated in Bhopal’s Satnami Nagar. Police have recovered a huge consignment of arms including hand grenades, rocket launchers, pistols, revolvers and one carbine too.
In addition, Police have also recovered Rs 12 lakh in cash and six boxes of Naxalite literature from the factory. The literatures were in Telegu, Hindi and Bengali languages.
ADGP (Intelligence) S K Raut said that
we received information on Wednesday that an illegal arms factory was running in Bhopal and was supplying arms to Maoists.
We raided three places and recovered a huge consignment of arms accessories or parts of sophisticated arms, which were being manufactured here.
He said that the recovered consignment is so large in quantity that the police have not been able to draw a list of it yet.
He has confirmed that the preliminary investigations showed the arms were being sent to Naxalites of Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. However, the police also said that the final assembling of the arms was taking place elsewhere.
During the raid, the police also detained six suspected Maoists and three other persons working in the factory.
