
India and Bangladesh have decided to deal with the problem of cross-border terrorism with a mutual cooperation. On Tuesday, the two-day foreign secretary level ended and the officials from both sides have decided to have a meeting of their Home secretaries to enhance the decision to any further level.
At the same time, the officials of foreign offices from both countries also talked about establishing a better friendly environment to enhance security cooperation. The foreign secretary level talks had started after a gap of two years.

After the two-day talks, the officials from both countries came out with a joint declaration that was stated as;
...the two sides emphasized the need for enhanced security cooperation particularly information sharing between the authorities concerned.
They reiterated their commitment not to allow their territories to be used in any manner for activities inimical to the other.
According to the report, Indian foreign secretary Shivshankar Menon and Bangladesh foreign secretary Touhid Hossain held a joint press conference.
During the press conference, both of them termed the high-level talks as very much constructive and forward looking.
Menon said that both countries have been in agreement to tackle the issues of cross-border terrorism with mutual cooperation in the common interests of peace and security in the region.
The national standard organizations, from both the countries, also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the talks. According to the MoU, there would be better technical cooperation between the India’s Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI). Both would work in great cooperation in the fields of standardization, certification, testing, measurement and quality assurance systems.
