
India is planning to put a bird’s eye on every part of India to restrict criminal activities. The government hopes that it will take one-year time to launch India’s own mapping engine. It will be based on the working of Google Earth.
The project will be tabled in the meeting of the Union cabinet soon. The project will work on Geographical Information System (GIS).
However, the Science and Technology Ministry have launched the similar kind of pilot project in the Chandini Chowk in Delhi.
The surveillance cameras have been already caught an ongoing illegal construction in that area. Now MCD is planning to install the camera all over Delhi.
Kapil Silbal, Science and Technology Minister, said that
this is the move from human discretion to technological precision. Technological advancement should be used for good governance. We are doing this.
