The whole nation is praying for the good health of Shehnai maestro Bismillah Khan, 92. He was hospitalized in Varanasi after a brief illness on Thursday. He was admitted to the Heritage Hospital.



According to his personal secretary Syed Javed Ahmed, Khan Saheb had complained of weakness from past few days. He was also suffering from loss of appetite. Doctors suggested shifting him to Heritage Hospital.



Singing legend Lata Mangeshkar and her sister Usha Mangeshkar said that the people of India and all music lovers to pray for his good health and early recovery.



Sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, in a message, said that he prays to god for khan’s good health.



Amitabh Bachchan said that all Indian should pray to god for Ustad Bismillah Khan’s good health.



Rahul Bose said that I am hoping Ustad Bismillah Khan will recover and will bless us with the incomparable sounds of his shehnai soon.



Farouque Shaikh said that might god grant him a longer life with good health.



John Abraham said that God bless and take care of him.



Dilip Kumar and Amjad Ali Khan also have sent get-well messages for khan.



Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav said that the state government would bear the cost of khan’s treatment.



The Governor T V Rajeshwar has enquired about his health from the Varansi district administration.



Nadeem Jafri, Bismillah Khan’s physician said that he is having trouble walking because of his knee problem. However, he will improve soon.



Ustad Bismillah Khan has the distinction of performing from the rampart of Delhi’s Red Fort on August 15, 1947, when India became independent.
