India is on the way to explore all possibilities to be on the right path of development. The government of India has showed positive approach towards the neighboring countries and has decided to establish better trade relations with SAARC countries. The government is trying to make the movement of people easy within the regional group of nations.

India’s External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee has said that the government is thinking to decrease customs duty on goods imported from poor countries.

Mukhejee, on the occasion for inaugurating a Regional Passport Office in Baharampur, said that this would gratify to the needs of people living in Nadia, Mushidabad and Birbhum districts.

Government is in favor to dismantle all the barriers that restricting better trade and investment among SAARC countries.

Earlier the government had said that it is ready to open up its market without taking any notice for reciprocity from neighboring countries.

India is ready to go on this way despite of addressing whatever differences are there with neighbors.

Mukherjee, during the gathering of parliamentarians from eight SAARC countries in Shimla on June 4 this year, had said that the South Asia Free Trade Area (Safta) and Saarc Development Fund (SDF) should be in better working conditions.

These platforms may develop intra-regional trade and cross-border infrastructure projects among SAARC countries. India, as SAARC chair, has decided to focus on improving regional communication and promotion of trade, transport and telecommunication links.
