
Scientists in the UK and India are examining the ancient Indian ayurvedic medicine for possible use of it as drug to treat Alzheimer’s disease.
According to the scientists of India and UK, ayurveda may help for boosting mental dexterity in the disease. The scientists have found that a plant which is helpful to improve memory and concentration in Alzheimer’s patients.
Researchers from King’s College, London and Jadavpur University, Kolkata, are studying on the five plants.
The plants are found to be acted to restrict the collapse of neurotransmitters in people with Alzheimer’s disease.
The scientists are now working hard to find out the chemical compounds responsible for developing drugs that are more effective in Alzheimer’s.
