Indo-Americans are making their presence strongly in corporate America. Indra Nooyi, 50, who is chief financial officer, is going to become the new chief executive of PepsiCo.



The large Indo-American community in Silicon Valley is seeing this development as a beginning of a new era in the corporate world of US.



The Indo-Americans have their presence in all the important sectors such as engineering, science and finance, anywhere in the United States. There are others name too who may take the top position in the US firms.



Vinod Khosla, co-founder of Sun Microsystems, and Vyomesh Joshi, a top executive at Hewlett-Packard have been mentioned as a contender to run the Hewlett-Packard.



Nooyi, grew up in Madras, did graduation in India and did a master’s in public and private management from the Yale School of Management. Before joining at PepsiCo, Nooyi was working as senior vice president at Asea Brown Boveri and vice president and director of corporate strategy and planning at Motorola.



She joined PepsiCo in 1994 and since 2001 she is working as the company’s president and chief financial officer. She will be the fifth chief executive in the company’s 41-year history.

Moreover, she was ranked 28th by Forbes.
