The Indian railway has made the process of purchasing the E-tickets easy by simplifying the payment process. The people may take E-tickets from cyber cafes and agents by paying them the full amount now.
The Railways had started E-ticketing way back in August 2005 and this service is fully controlled by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Cooperation limited (IRCTC). The payment process to the cyber cafe owners started in Uttar Pradesh by IRCTC.
Devesh Misra, chief regional manager, IRCTC, Lucknow said that the Information technology department has provided us the facility of e-suvidha through which bills can be paid online. With this process, the money for e-tickets can also be paid at cyber cafes.
Earlier, only the credit card owners were able to pay online for the ticket. Now, taking the E-ticket would be within the reach of common man who would be able to take tickets from visiting any cyber cafes.
The customer may take prints out an electronic reservation slip and the concerned authorized personal identification would be necessary to represent the authority to travel. Failing to show the authorized personal identification would result in making the traveler ticketless.
According to the IRCTC, a person can reserve maximum six berths at a time and the user would be able to book maximum ten tickets in a calendar month. E-ticket will be issued only when the berths will be available.
E-tickets cannot be cancelled at regular reservation counters. It can be cancelled online only up to the charting time for that train. The refunding money would be refunded into the account of the user.
