
State governments have started taking steps against the sale of soft drinks. Some already banned it and rests are planning for that.
Madhya Pradesh government has banned the sale of the soft drinks in government offices and educational institutions on Sunday.
Gujarat government has banned it in all government-run schools and colleges from Monday.

Kerala’s ruling Left Democratic Front has recommended the state government ban the sale of the soft drinks.
Punjab government has banned the sale of the soft drinks in the Vidhan Sabha canteen. Haryana government also has banned its sale in government offices and educational institutions.
Rajasthan government has too banned the colas in all government and private institutes in the state.
Delhi too is mulling over a similar ban in all schools.
Karnataka government has asked the cabinet to recommend ways to consider banning colas in schools.
Andhra Pradesh is looking towards the Centre for guidance on the issue.

However, state governments are not empowered to impose such a ban but they are taking the necessary steps, judicial authority is also doing its work into the matter. The center government has not delivered a single statement on the CSE’s report of pesticides in soft drinks.
