
Mohammad Shahid Dar, 23, an Indian student of journalism at a college in Kuala Lumpur spent five days at an immigration detention centre here in the capital of Malaysia.
He had a valid Visa but he was forced to spend five days in detention by immigration officials. He is a resident of Srinagar in India. He was released on last Friday only.
According to his cousin, the immigration officials picked up Dar from a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur and sent to a detention camp. Dar showed the valid visa and student identity card but he was put on remand there.
Dar has been released only after the Indian embassy officials sent papers regarding his passport, visa and college papers to the foreign ministry as well as to the immigration office too.
