The high profile diplomatic teams from both India and US are busy to finalize the deal in Washington DC this time. Earlier, the visit of Indian team was scheduled as a 3-day meeting but it has extended for an extra day when the delegations from both countries failed to seal an expected settlement on Thursday.
Now, Friday is the D-day for the future of the deal, it seems. According to the report, the diplomats from both the countries were involved in the 3 days of passionate discussions to seal the Nuclear deal already signed between India and the US. The experts had expected about some positive results from the high profile meeting in Washington DC but the meeting did not result in a final 123 Agreement.
On Thursday, the Indian delegation met vice-president Dick Cheney following by several rounds of official-level talks but produced no breakthrough. Indian team led by National Security Advisor M.K.Narayanan, foreign secretary Shiv Shankar Menon, and India’s ambassador to the US Ronen Sen met Cheney for half-an hour to discuss the various points. The officials were not ready to say about the nature and content of the discussion.
The report said further that the Indian team, except M.K.Narayanan, had planned to take a return flight to India at around 10 p.m. on Thursday. At the last minute, they rescheduled their plan to have another talk on the remaining issues on Friday.
The officials from both the countries were tightlipped throughout Thursday and refused to get into details about the talks. Burns later told media persons that both countries need to go the extra couple of feet more to have an agreement.
