
Indians are better outside the country. They look different in their stranger outfits. In the US they are the successful immigrant group. They are the best at technological field, in the field of real estate, mass communication, literature, and entertainment too. They are the owner of several small businesses and leading some big corporations too in the US.
The 2000 Census shows that Indians are the owner of 50% of all economy lodging and 37% of all hotels in the U.S. During the 1990s Indians were running almost 10% of technological park in Silicon Valley.
Indians may be found everywhere such as hospitals, as journalists in several publications, as faculty at most universities and so on.
Important part of their success story is that the Indians, who arrived in the US after 1980s had not received no special treatment and sometime faced some discrimination.
Vivek Wadhwa writes in BusinessWeek as Indians have some good qualities such as-
# Education- 63.9% of Indians more than 25 yrs of age holds at least a bachelor’s degree. The national average is 24.4%. They do believe education is the only weapon with that they can fight poverty and hardship.
# Hard work- Indians are hard workers since their childhood days. The tough education system makes them hard working.
# Determination- Indians are well determined to do anything they think to do. Larger population, corruption, poor governance, poor infrastructure, very restricted opportunities make them a fighter to be survivor. Indians work on their own and work around the problems that the state and society create for them..
# Entrepreneurial spirit- Indians are good at any work. They enjoy it with excellent entrepreneurial sprit and humility.
# Diversity- In India. six major religions and 22 languages are present. They easily accept any style living anywhere.
# Respect for work place- The Pew Global Attitudes Project’s public opinion surveys has revealed that Indians predominantly hold favorable opinions of the U.S. When Indians immigrate to the U.S, they usually come to share the American dream and work hard to integrate.
