The ‘Lalu-Rabri raj’ has gone past but the situation of law and order is looking more or less as the same even in Nitish raj if we talk about the kidnapping industry in Bihar. Ankit, a 6-year old boy from Patna was kidnapped from outside his school St Pauls in Patna on April 11.
A report revealed that the kidnappers have killed the innocent 6-year old boy when they did not receive ransom money from boy’s family. The killing of Ankit for money may be a routine news for state government and the administration but this is a horrible incident for the boy’s family and a proof of administration failure in state.
More than 900 kidnapping incidents in first three months in 2007 shows the rising crime graph in state. Ankit’s case is just another addition to the statistic of Bihar’s thriving kidnapping industry.
The police is interrogating the family’s domestic help Balaram in the connection with Ankit’s kidnapping. Kundan Krishnan Senior SP, Patna, said that Ankit was murdered on April 13 by kidnappers. Later, Balram revealed that the kidnappers buried the dead body somewhere in Chapra.
Patna police has sent a team to Chapra to dig the spot near the place what Balram had revealed during interrogation. Police team is still searching the dead body and the kidnappers behind the crime.
