
The blueline horror is unstoppable in Delhi even after taking more than 90 lives in the year till the date. In yet another accident, happened in Noida, a blueline bus crushed a motorcyclist to death on Tuesday. According to the report, the accident happened at Sector-18 when the blueline bus, going from Noida to Bhajanpura, killed the youth, later identified as Rajiv (30.
Another accident happened in Pushp Vihar area where a blueline bus crushed two motorcyclists on Tuesday afternoon.
The police said that Rajiv was a resident of Laxmi Nagar area of Delhi. It triggered protests in the area and angry mob started pelting stones at the bus. The driver and conductor of the bus absconded just after the accident.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court issued the whip against the Sheila Dikshit Government and asked the government to take immediate steps to check the ongoing blueline anarchy on the Delhi roads. The HC reacted sharply after the ghastly death of seven persons under the wheels of a Blueline bus on Sunday
The Delhi HC division bench comprising Justice Mukul Mudgal and Justice Reva Khetrapal has put forward a question on Delhi Government’s seriousness in taking action against the errant Blueline buses. The bench asked the government to submit a reply to its suggestion to wind up the private bus service. The court also suggested running the private buses exclusively as a public enterprise as it was in the 1990s.
Further, the Delhi HC bench also cited about the efficient running of Mumbai’s public bus service by BEST. It asked the government to think over it and reply on the next date of hearing on Thursday.
Earlier, the amicus curiae submitted his report in the court and said that the bus operators were making a mockery of the Supreme Court and High Court orders. It said that despite a series of orders passed by the High Court, the wayward driving of these buses was still going on.
Later, the Delhi HC bench asked the government to inform the court that how many politicians are behind the running of Blueline buses in Delhi. The series of incidents and no serious checks on the killer buses give clear indication that the Delhi government is reluctant to take any strong action against the blueline buses on Delhi roads.
