Kris Kolluri, New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine’s transportation commissioner and a cabinet member, will be a happy person but just for one day.
He is going to be the first Indian American who will be placed at position of the governor of New Jersey.
On December 28, he will get the seat of New Jersey governor until the president of the state senate gets back from his holiday. Kolluri is also the first Indian American who held a cabinet post in New Jersey.
Kolluri, 38, said that it is pretty awesome. He has made a plan to bring his family to Drumthwacket, the governor’s mansion to capture some good moments in the mansion.
He said that
At best, I would be remembered by my family as the governor of NJ. At worst, I would be a good jeopardy question.
However, the Star Ledger newspaper has reported that Kolluri was not the sole choice to place him as the governor. Before him, some of the people, who were offered, have declined the offer because they were all going to be away for the holidays.
