On Thursday, the Chennai police received a postcard threatening to kill Tamil Nadu Chief Minsiter M Karunanidhi by a ‘Human Bomb’. According to the report, the City Police Commissioner reportedly carried the letter stating that Karunanidhi will be blown up using a human bomb on September 15. The threatening letter sent the state police panicking.

The postcard was reportedly written in Tamil. The outfit named Al-Umma-Madhani Iyakkam stated in that letter that Karunanidhi had earlier promised to reduce the age limit from 24 to 29 for recruitment to the state police forces.

Later, the government relaxed the age limit but only for SC/ST candidates. The outfit called that decision as totally condemnable.

The outfit has demanded in the letter that Karunanidhi should officially declare the relaxation the age limit for all when he would come to inaugurate the Kalaignar TV station on September 15.

The outfit has also demanded that the government should grant reservation for Muslim candidates in the recruitment in police department and the required height should be reduced from 168 cm to 163 cm.

The postcard says that if this did not happen, ‘Kalaignar’ (Karunanidhi) would be killed through human bomb on September 15. Later, the city Police Commissioner C K Gandhirajan said that the police have been started the investigations.
