
Finally, the justice has been delivered to Jessica Lall’s family after seven years of her murder. The Delhi High Court Bench, comprising Justice R S Sodhi and Justice P K Bhasin, had found Manu Sharma guilty of her murder when she refused to serve him liquor at a party in a Delhi restaurant.
Today, Delhi High Court has awarded life term to Manu Sharma in this murder case.
The court has also sentenced to four years imprisonment for violating the Arms Act and another four-year term has awarded for constructing criminal conspiracy. In addition, Manu was also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 to Jessica Lall’s family.
The other two co-accused of this murder, Vikas Yadav and Amardeep Singh Gill were awarded four years rigorous imprisonment for aiding and abetment of the crime.
Earlier, the prosecution had asked for death sentence to Manu Sharma, but Sharma’s lawyer R K Nasseem told the court that the murder was not pre-planned and Manu is not habitual criminal. He was a first time offender.
