LTTE’s growing air strike power has started sending major threaten signals to army bases in Sri Lanka. Now, Sri Lanka’s Foreign Secretary Palitha Kohona has told media persons that the growing airpower may be equally dangerous for India too. He clearly indicated that LTTE may poses a big threat to India’s nuclear installations also.
Kohana said:
LTTE air power has a range of 200-300 nautical miles. It may go beyond cities within Sri Lanka to Indian territory and may go to the nuclear installations of India.
He tried to remind that LTTE, the terrorist organization, was responsible for killing Rajiv Gandhi. Rajiv Gandhi was former PM in India when he was killed and LTTE was found behind the killing plot. He said that there is possibility of everything anytime.

According to the report, LTTE’s air wing has 2-5 small propeller planes that may carry bombs. Experts said that it should not be taken lightly as the tigers have planned for more air raids in coming future.
Military analysts say the Tigers, who are known to possess at least two Czech-built Zlin-143 single-engine four-seater aircraft and an airfield, could be the world’s first rebel outfit to use its own planes in a combat role.
India has showed its concern that if a LTTE aircraft could take off from Mullaitivu district, fly all the way to Colombo, bomb the air base and return to base, then Tamil Nadu could be easily accessed too. This is a clear alarming situation for the security of South Indian cities.
The government of India had earlier decided to set up radar in southern part of India to restrict such kind of attack in Indian part of the subcontinent too. The Indian Air Force had installed radar at Seeniappa Dargah in a casuarina jungle near the Sundaramudayan coastal village.
According to the reports, the Indian defence administration has started taking necessary steps to guard India’s top strategic facilities that are located in different parts of the Southern part of the country.
