
The ‘Reliance Fresh’ is getting fresh troubles in Uttar Pradesh. According to the report, more than 800 employees of different Reliance Fresh outlets opened across Uttar Pradesh lost their jobs. It happened because of the state government’s decision to close down all the Reliance Fresh outlets in UP.
Earlier, Mayawati government had passed the order of the closure of the outlets in UP to maintain the law and order in state. The local shop vegetable shop owners had attacked in the Reliance Fresh outlets in several cities in Uttar Pradesh.
However, the Reliance officials have given the assurance to all the 800 employees that the company would recruit them back when the state government would grant permission to Reliance to start operating the outlets in the state.
UP Chief Minister Mayawati has given the power to the District Magistrates across the state to immediately close down other retail stores in case at any point of time, if they feared public disorder.
On last Sunday, the state government passed the order to shut down five Reliance Fresh outlets operating in Noida. According to district officials, the outlets will remain closed till September 30.
The state government ordered the local administration to close the Reliance Fresh outlets, three in Noida and two in greater Noida, by saying that the state intelligence had received reports of possible attack on Reliance Fresh outlets by small businessmen and vegetable shop owners.
Earlier, the small traders and farmers had attacked in the outlets in Varanasi and Lucknow two months back and the state government had ordered to close down all Reliance fresh stores in both the cities.
