On Sunday, more than 250 youngesters including 27 girls were arrested for taking part in a drug party in a hotel in Khanapur, Pune. The Pune police seized the drug that was worth of up to Rs 3 crore. About 100 constables and 10 plainclothes women cops raided the premises of the party on Sunday night.
Police took more than three hours to locate the place of the party even though police had correct information. All the arrested youngsters caught red-handed and police charged them under Section 27, for only drug consumption. The seven main drug peddlers were charged under Section 20B, 25, 26, 27 and 29.
Rural Superintendent of Police Vishwas Nangre Patil said after the raid that most of the arrested college girls and boys belong to different parts of the country. There is a possibility that an international drug syndicate could be linked with this party. as there were some foreigners present.
An Irish national, who was in the party, went absconding and the police have issued a red corner notice against him. He informed that seven foreign nationals, including two Germans, two Iranians (one woman) and three Palestinians were among those arrested. These foreign nationals and others who had landed at the party site, a desolate farm in village Donaje
According to the police, 10 gm of charas, 2.5 kg ganja, mobiles, 57 bottles of California Drop, a type of drug, beer cans, 45 four-wheelers and 29 two-wheelers were seized during the raid.
Patil said later:
.The invitation of the rave party was put up on the website named Isratrance.com and it was flashed through social networking portal orkut.com. We are contemplating to also book them under the Information Technology Act
He said that almost all the party revelers were from high society and were involved in indecent behavior during the party. Patil said prostitution through such parties couldn’t be ruled out.
Police had asked for police custody the drug peddlers only who were involved in the trade, sale, distribution and possession.
The major question is that is the police hitting the root of the problem? The drugs are freely available in the country and people both pushing and using drugs are free to get away. There are so many loopholes in the country’s legal system.

No one ever thought that where this kiling slow poison comes from and what important steps our police is taking to deal with this different kind of drug trafficking that has deepened its roots in India spoiling especially youngsters.
I don’t think that this trafficking can work independently, there are many people involved who are indulged in supplying this slow poison. These people are busy filing their pockets without even realizing the harm they are causing to the masses.
