Pranab: Arunachal is Indian territory

Ind
ia has strongly rejected China’s argue that Arunachal Pradesh was part of Chinese territory. External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of Indian Territory.

Earlier, Chinese Ambassador, Sun Yuxi had stated that Arunachal Pradesh was a part of China. He had said during an interview to private news channel that,

According to Chinese view, the whole of Arunachal Pradesh is Chinese territory and Tawang is only one place in it. We are claiming over whole of Arunachal Pradesh. That is our position.

Currently, India and China are going through talks to solve the boundary issues. Both the country had signed the ‘Political Parameters and Guiding Principles‘ for the purpose last year.

In the middle of India’s strong rejection of Chinese claim, China sought to downplay the issue. It said that it was the tactical goal of India as well as China to get an early, fair and rational solution to the boundary dispute.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Jiang Yu said on Tuesday that

We have no report or any statement. We will make a double check.

He refused to say anything more on this issue and Chinese claim on Arunachal Pradesh.

However, this kind of statement made by Chinese diplomat shows the different face of China to India on border disputes.
