
The Gujjars’ protest in Rajasthan for their inclusion in the Schedule Tribe list have rocked not even Rajashthan but the Central government too. Now, the Gijjars’ demand is being opposed by the Meenas who are more in numbers from Gujjars in Rajasthan.
In state, the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is busy in meeting with Gurjar leaders in Jaipur and in Delhi the BJP leaders such as Advani and Jaswant Singh have met with PM Manmohan Singh.
The protests have turned violent in last five days and the adjoining states such as Delhi and Haryana are facing the heat of the protests of Gujjars and Meenas. According to the report, some violent protestors have set a railway station ablaze at Sanganer.
Because of the protestors’ attack on the railway station, the communication system and official documents were damaged on Friday night. The report further said that the Railway Protection Force personnel were allegedly not on duty at the time when protestors attacked the railway station.
Now, the state administration has provided security forces to all stations in Jaipur such as Gandhinagar, Durgapura and Jagatpura in a defensive steps. The state government has sealed the state border that is linked with the borders of states such as Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and it will be opened for valid passengers checks.
