The Rajasthan Government decided to lodge an FIR against BB Mohanty, DGP Orissa (fire services and home guards) for allegedly hiding his son.

The Rajasthan Government has been issued a warrant for the attachment of his property and to recover Rs 50,000 of surety bonds for the parole of his son Biti Mohanty.

BB Mohanty’s son Biti Mohanty was convicted in the charge of rape of a German tourist in Rajasthan. He was sent to jail by a fast-track court in Alwar.

Later, the Jaipur Jail administration granted him a parole from November 20 to December 4, 2006. However, after then Biti is still missing.

In December, a team of Rajasthan police had also gone to Orissa to find out Biti but came back without him after 20 days of searching.

Later, the Rajasthan Government has taken initiative action against the Orissa DGP for hiding his son.

Now, BB Mahanty is required to act in accordance with the warrant of attachment of property in seven days. The Chief Secretary has got the power to recover the money from him.

Earlier, the Jaipur ADM had issued a notice to Mohanty on the violation of the parole conditions but he did not receive any answer from Mohanty. The DGP had then ignored the notice.

Home Minister Gulab Chand Katatia said Mohanty had misled jail authorities and police on the question of parole He said further that an FIR would be lodged at Lal Kothi police station.

In the Meantime, a court has issued notice for the attachment of property proceedings against the DGP on Tuesday.
