Indian middle class getting big

People belong to middle-income society in the country are
experiencing a complete new world around them like never before . Buying
luxurious items is no more a distant dream for them. The huge Indian market is
attracting even multinational companies for selling their products like anything. This is a new India
where you can dream to own a four-wheeler vehicle in just Rs one lakh
twenty-four thousand. And now you can dream to own a laptop in just Rs 14,000.
Middle-income group is earning good bucks and spending little time to think for saving.

Living life is most important than saving money for most of the
people belong to this group. They live in present and enjoy having costly
cellular phones in hand, a laptop on working table, a four-wheeler in parking
space and a two-bedroom apartment in any of the posh colonies in city.

Tata Motors has solved a major problem of people - How
could I buy a car - by presenting ‘Nano’ in Indian auto market. Now, personal
computer and server maker HCL Infosystems Ltd has tried to solve another
problem – How could I buy a laptop - by presenting ‘MiLeap X’ laptop priced at Rs
13,990, ($358). The new model of laptop expects to gain a greater share of
India’s laptop market because it is about 40 per cent cheaper than the lowest
cost HCL model available in the market.

Ajai Chowdhry, CEO HCL India, said in a press conference:
Indian market was waiting for something like this... It will open up a wide
range of new usage scenarios and application areas. HCL currently commands
about 7 per cent of India’s laptop market.

HCL has also launched another model ‘MiLeap Y’ priced at Rs
29,990 rupees. According to market experts, there is a huge market for cheap
laptops in India. HCL will gain greater share in market if it pacts with
educational institutes and government departments.

Even the people from low-income group are trying their luck
in Indian share market and the world saw the overwhelming response Anil
Amabani’s ADAG group received on the first day of the opening of Reliance
Power’s IPOs in the market. Buying Home generally is the biggest dream for millions of people in
India and we can expect someday one company would come forward and promise to
give them a two-room flat in just Rs five lakh. Will it be possible?
