Salman's turn to go jail now in Chinkara case

Yesterday, bollywood star Sanjay Dutt walked free from the Yeravada jail in Pune after getting an interim bail from Supreme Court. Now, another bollywood star Salman Khan will have to go jail.

According to the report, the Jodhpur court District and Sessions Judge Kamal Raj Singhvi, on Friday, rejected the bail petition filed by Salman Khan in the connection with the 1998 poaching case. After this verdict, Salman Khan will have no option left but to go to jail now.

Earlier, Salman had filed an application challenging the earlier court ruling, in which the court had sentenced him a 5-yr of Rigorous Imprisonment in connection with poaching of a chinkara, an endangered deer.

On Friday, Salman Khan was not there in the court when the court pronounced the verdict of canceling his petition challenging the verdict that was awarded by earlier court. This is not yet clear that when he will be taken into custody.

During the shooting of the film, Hum Saath Saath Hain, Salman was accused of poaching a chinkara near Mathania, Jodhpur on the night of September 27, 1998.

According to another report, an arrest warrant is due to be issued against Salman after the court’s verdict. Salman’s lawyers are planning to file a petition in the High Court to grant Salman seven days to surrender. Salman is likely to surrender before the court only after the Raksha bandhan festival.
