The act of sycophancy is again here in the news but certainly in a different form where the matter of entertainment has received a political color. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Madras High Court, seeking the ban on the Rajnikant-starred super hit film ‘Sivaji-the Boss’.
According to the report, a Congress worker, M Satyamoorthy, filed a PIL in the court and urged to ban the screening the movie for allegedly defaming Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh in this movie.
Stayamoorthy stated in the PIL that the film has portrayed Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh along with the villain of the film. He said that this is an act to defame the Congress leaders as well as the Congress party.
At the same time, he demanded in the PIL for Rs 50 crore from Rajnikant, film producer A V M Saravanan and Director Shankar as damages to the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee because of defaming the leaders in the movie.
In a scene in the film, the villain who is a corrupt person, showed standing in between the photos of Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. Satyamoorthy has stated in the PIL that the photograph, which was showed four times in the film, create a notion that the villain is the member of the Congress party.
