Terrorists preferring Karachi-Jafna-Chennai sea route now

Due to the increased vigil by the Indian security forces on all the possible land routes of infiltration, the terrorist organizations are reportedly busy in searching other routes to infiltrate in India now. The previous tried and tested land routes have become difficult to cross now.

High security measures in those areas have resulted in major losses for terrorist organizations and the terror outfits such as the Lashkar-e-Toiba has tried to explore new routes and the sea route has become most preferable route for them.

Earlier, there were two routes the terrorists used to come in India such as the land route from Pakistan through Kashmir and from Nepal into the border districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The terrorists used the route from Bangladesh to West Bengal or the North East to come in India.

According to the report, the two arrested LeT terrorists have said that the sea route has become the new preference to infiltrate in Indian Territory. They also revealed that most terror outfits were using the sea route because this was a much safer option.

The Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Delhi Police, Karnail Singh said:

Interrogation has revealed that in November, Sammimullaha, a LeT terrorist had recceed beaches in India to find out which was the safest beach for terrorists to land on.

According to the Intelligence Bureau, terrorists start on boats from Karachi in Pakistan to reach Jafna in Sri Lanka. The terrorists get their supply of arms and ammunition From Sri Lanka to use against India.

The terrorists get a chance to makeover with local fishermen to reach one of the many beaches in Chennai. The report says that the terrorists then do contact with the sleeper cell through satellite phones and with the help of the GPS system before their arrival at the beaches.

They ask from the people available in sleeper terror cells in South India that which of the beach is safe for them to land on.

According to Karnail Singh, they travel in a boat with many other local fishermen and it is extremely difficult to detect them. It’s a new phenomenon being used by terrorists. However, the Indian Intelligence agencies have been put the security forces in the coastal areas on high alert following these revelations.
