
The influence of India is being higher and higher on American community it seems. In the recent example of the growing influence, the US Senate is going to create history on July 12 when it will start business of the house with Hindu Vedic prayers.
According to the report, the delivery of the prayer will also be included in the Congressional record. It would happen for the first time since the senate’s inception in 1798.
A Hindu priest from Nevada, Rajan Zed, would get the stature to be the first Hindu who would deliver the Vedic prayer on July 12 in the US Senate. Zed stated in his announcement of the schedule that this occasion will be a memorable day for all Americans and equally unforgettable day for us too.
Earlier on previous occasion, Zed had offered Hindu prayers at the opening sessions of the Nevada State Assembly in March and Nevada State Senate in May this year. He has become the first Hindu who delivered the Hindu Vedic prayers in any of state legislatures in the US.
The report says that Zed is working on to finalize the prayer to offer in US senate. According to him, he would quote Hindu scriptures that will be included the Rig Veda, the Upanishads, and the Bhagavad-Gita. He would start and end the prayers with pronouncement of ‘OM’.
