
All is not looking well on the landmark nuclear deal between India and the United States as there is a fresh obstacle have been raised by senators in Washington. The senators have reportedly started mounting pressure on India to stay India away from Iran.
According to the report, seven US senators have written letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and urged India not to cozy up with Iran. The US is trying to put Iran in isolation on the International platform over the matter of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program and showed great concern over Iran’s increasing comfortable relation with India.
The senators have showed their concern over the exchange of visits between high-level officials of these countries for enhancing military ties, and negotiations of agreements to establish closer economic relations such as gas pipeline projects between India and Iran.
The senators have written in the letters that India’s growing relation with Iran have a significant potential that may affect the relationship between the US and India in a negative manner.
However, Indian officials have reacted on this second letter came from the US administration in last two months by saying that this is no doubt a practice to mount pressure on India but it would not be said as a deal breaker.
