Vibrating condom causes concern in political circle, Matter goes to PMO

The ‘Crezendo’ of Hindustan Latex Limited has attracted much political debate in country now. It was launched three months back with a description that it provides ultimate pleasure by producing strong vibrations. Now the issue of vibrating condom has been transformed in the issue of Indian values and culture.

The controversial condom comes in a pack of three and contains a battery-operated ring-like device. Critics have raised objection on this product and termed it as a sex toy. He wrote in the letter as the vibrating ring that is the ‘ sex toy’ is being supplied separately along with the condoms.

The Sex toys are banned in India so the ‘conservative sections’ outraged loudly in Madhya Pradesh where the new condom is launched. Madhya Pradesh minister for road and energy, Kailash Vijayvargiya has called it as serious matter.

And now, the issue of vibrating condom controversy is all set to be discussed in the PMO. According to the report, Kailash Vijayvargiya has written a three-page letter to PM Manmohan Singh in which he has accused the UPA government for encouraging sex toys in India and sex for the means of pleasure. The vibrating condom package is being marketed by government-owned Hindustan Latex Ltd.

Kailash is clear in his idea by saying that condoms should be used as a birth control measure. He has accused that the company is making it a sex toy.

He wrote in the letter:

The vibrating ring sex-toy has been launched by Hindustan Latex Ltd under your government’s ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Despite a ban on the sale of sex toys in the country, this one is being sold in the open market.

Your intervention in the matter has become necessary since all concerned departments under the UPA government have failed in their jobs.

On the other hand, Hindustan Latex has its own words to defend the vibrating condoms. It has said that this is being marketed only to promote the condom use in country. This is a part of government mission to control AIDS.

Now, the political leaders, across party lines, have also come against the vibrating condoms. The local Congress and CPM leaders have urged state government to ban the condom. CPM secretary Bahadur Singh Dhakad said that It is bound to have a harmful effect, especially on youngsters.

At the same time, Hindustan Latex marketing director K K Suresh Kumar said that If the state bans the brand, we will stop its marketing here. We do not want to get into any controversy. Now all eyes are on the move of PMO in this issue.
