Now let me tell you his current condition. Prafulla is leading a life of wretchedness and pennilessness in Pune. Now he opted begging at Sarasbaugh, Pune to earns foods.

Prafulla, 57, is an IIT-Delhi graduate in chemical engineering.
He belongs to a family of freedom fighter and Marathi litterateur Vishnushastri Chiplunkar and Vir Sawarkar.

He was working in the company at Palampur. He met with an accident in the company in 1980. And Since then his bad times started. He had suffered severe burn injuries and he lost his job after the accident.

He went at his wife’s place to Thailand. Later, in 2002 his wife and son died in a car accident. This news shattered him completely and the ensuing depression led him astray.

No relatives came forward to help Prafulla as he had cut himself from all the relatives. He started working as a security guard in a housing society. But, two years ago, he took choice to begging.

But when a beggar was reading English news paper and magazines, it aroused curiosity in the local public. They informed the local media about him.

Moreshwar Joshi, a local journalist said that

I verified his antecedents and when sure, informed local people who regarded Veer Savarkar as a great freedom fighter.

Now Sanjay Dhongade, a social worker is taking care of him. There was another twist in the story. Joshi said that a woman from Delhi had requested him for taking care of Prafulla after the news came to media.

The woman said that

I was employed as a maid in Chiplunkar’s house decades ago. Now that he has fallen upon bad times, I am ready to discharge my responsibility as a daughter towards him. We are in a position to take care of his needs.
