
Vodafone is planning to make a happening entry in Indian market. The deal between Vodafone and Hutch-Essar is likely to be completed by April this year. The Times of India has reported that Vodafone is interested to make the entry with announcement of some of its popular services in India.
Vodafone, happens to be the world’s largest mobile player, may introduce Vodafone Passport, Vodafone Simply and Vodafone Live and some other common services such as video calling, video messaging and mobile television as well.
With the service Vodafone Passport, the customers would be able to take their domestic tariff plan across the world for a small connection fee to be added per call. As in India, the roaming charges are still high after the recent reductions Vodafone Passport would be helpful for those Indians who frequently visit abroad.
Vodafone has more than 10 million Passport customers in Europe. A Vodafone spokesperson said to TOI;
First we will complete the transaction and we will have a discussion with the management before announcing some specific plans for products and services.
Vodafone has also a plan to have a larger push of mobile penetration in rural India. The other plan Vodafone simply would be helpful for the company to exploit the big opportunity for getting more market share in India.
